“A Congress leader was seen walking around Parliament carrying a Palestinian bag, while we are sending our youth to Israel for jobs. As many as 5,600 people from UP are part of construction projects in Israel. Every youth gets free food and accommodation besides a monthly salary of Rs 1.5 lakh there. There is also a full guarantee of safety,” Adityanath said.
Adityanath also pointed out that the Israeli embassy had praised the contributions of UP youth in Israel, stressing the government's success in providing job opportunities abroad.

In response to the UP CM, Priyanka Gandhi criticized the idea of sending youth to a war zone for employment. Taking to social media, she wrote in Hindi: “Throwing youths into the war zone in Israel for ‘employment’ is not an achievement but a matter of shame.” She further added that the Uttar Pradesh government appeared oblivious to the high levels of unemployment in the state and the struggles of those seeking work.
Priyanka also shared reports alleging that many youth working in Israel were living in fear, hiding in bunkers, and enduring exploitation by employers. “Our promising youths are forced to risk their lives for employment because you cannot provide employment,” she said. “Sending our youth to a war zone for employment is not something to be proud of, but rather a matter of shame.”
The controversy began when Priyanka Gandhi, in an act of solidarity with the Palestinian people, carried a bag with the word “Palestine” written on it while attending Parliament. Her gesture, which was part of her ongoing criticism of Israel’s actions in Gaza, has been met with mixed reactions. She has been vocal about the humanitarian crisis in Palestine since the conflict escalated.
