MANILA, Philippines – Manila Water and the University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) recently signed the memorandum of agreement (MOA) on a research program called the Removal of Excess Nitrogen and Endocrine Disruptors from Wastewater (RENEW) at Manila Water’s Main Office in Balara, Quezon City.
With the signing of the MOA, Manila Water becomes one of UPD’s industry partners in this initiative where the water company will collaborate with the state university in enhancing water and wastewater management capabilities.
Article continues after this advertisementProject RENEW aims to improve the removal of nitrogen and endocrine-disrupting compounds (EDCs) from wastewater. EDCs pose significant risks to both the environment and public health.

It also has the full support of the Environmental Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
